My obsession with Pantone is no secret. My obsession with frosted cookies is maybe a bit more of one. These sweet treats combine both beautifully. It would almost be a shame to eat them. This is especially true if you read about all the work freelance designer and illustrator Kim Neill put into making them. I’m not the sort that would go through all this work. More likely I’d end up eating the vat of frosting with a spoon and calling it a day. But my hat’s off to anyone who would take on this tasty project.

There are a few things I will fully admit addiction to (without the usual shame and self-loathing one usually associates with fessing up to our weaknesses).

Yes. Smarty pants. There are some other addictions I will not freely admit. But that’s a whole other ball o wax. So, brief list of obsessions in no particular order…
1. Nautical stripe long sleeve shirts
2. Office supplies
3. Sharpies
4. Annie Hall
5. Rayon floral print dresses from 1940s
6. Converse All Stars in black, off-white and red
7. Dying my hair (blonde)
8. Bookstores
9. Pantone
…gosh,just realized there are a lot of things I’m obsessed with, more than I can list when my whole purpose was to mention these

And these…the Pantone Visa card. Now I’m thinking the obvious color choice for me would be Firecracker. Then again, considering my joint finances with the husband, maybe it should be Beeswax. As in, “What did I buy at Barneys? None of your…”

Confession time. The reason we have more crayons, colored pencils, coloring books and art supplies than Lee’s Art Supplies is not because I am attempting to nurture my four year old’s artistic side. If given the choice he would definitely choose Legos and launching Hot Wheels off the bookshelf. No. We have an in-house art studio because mommy likes to color. And, as my son will tell you, in this house, Mama is the boss. So coloring it is! I’m always on the lookout for “grown up” coloring books and this one, via Core 77, definitely fits the bill.

Lovely Polar Bears and five shades of white (snowball white, polar white, frost white, igloo white, and Arctic white) to color with. Now just imagine the fun of explaining the concept of color variations to a four year old who’d rather be crashing things into walls!

Color for Christmas

Dear Santa,
I’ve been really, really good this year.
Seriously.
In fact, I’ve been so good, one might even call me boring. I know, my dear Saint Nick, that in years past I’ve stretched your patience and come close to being on the top of your naughty list. But honestly, I’m a beacon of goodness. A shining light spreading cheer and good will wherever I go.
Okay, Santa, I’m laying it on a bit thick. But what can I say. When I’m good, I’m good and I’ve been very, very…you get the picture right?
Speaking of pictures, I’d like to color in a few and nothing less than 500 glorious colors will do. So here’s what’s on the top of my list:
